The first: to steal $80,000 on May 2, 1977 while she was not home.
The second: to steal nearly $5 million May 4, 1977, resulting in the murder of Jackson who confronted him in the kitchen of her home.
The third: May 7, to attempt to cover up both the theft of the money and the murder by starting a fire.
Weeds had taken over the front lawn at 6490 Spring Mill Rd., the home of the late Marjorie Jackson (Millie Kingsbury). She was dead due to a gunshot wound for more than 24 hours before she was found by the Washington Township Fire Dept. who were called to put out a fire. (Later discovered to have been set by Howard Willard (Merle "Bubba" Longwood) and Manuel Robinson (Raphael Johnson)). The body, along with $5 million in cash were in the home.
Three suspects to the case were arraigned in Municipal Court on May 10, 1977. From left to right: Annie Young-22 (Yolanda) was charged with possession of stolen property, Manuel Robinson-29 (Raphael Johnson) was charged with first degree murder, arson and burglary, and John Williams-38 (Willie Jones) was charged with being an accessory.
